National Level Seminar
The Degree college organized a National Seminar on “Inclusive Development Strategies and Challenges” on 28th January, 2012 in the College Auditorium. We received participation from around the country and about fifty-five teachers including research scholars from various institutions participated and presented papers on different dimensions of Inclusive Growth.
Our key note speaker was Dr. K. Narayanan – HOD, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Bombay who enthralled the audience with his insights into 'Inclusive Development'. The first Technical Session on Educational Inclusion was conducted by Shri K.C.R. Raja, Ex- Director(Garware Institute ofManagement, University of Mumbai).
The second Technical Session was on Social Institution was conducted by Shri E. Mohan Reddy Dy. G.M. (CSR)O.N.G.C.
Post lunch the third Technical Session on Financial Inclusion was chaired by Shri M.V. Ashok, C. G.M. NABARD, Pune and Ms. Rupali Ghanekar (Economic Advisor to Indian National Ship Owners Association). The last Technical session on Gender Inclusion, was conducted by Ms. Varsha Kale(President,Womenist Party of India). Ms. Varsha Kale took the audience on a virtual tour of her path breaking work for upliftment of women and gave a real meaning of Inclusive Developmental policies. The seminar ended with the valedictory function.
Our country is experimenting with different types of development policies with an objective of enhancing welfare and well being of her population. Many a times these efforts have raised intense debates about their utility.
The objectives of the conducted seminar was to understand and analyze the present socio-economic scenario prevailing in the country, to discuss the formidable factors that serve as setbacks to inclusive development and to develop a conceptually sound, economically feasible and socially acceptable systems for inclusive development.
