Bunts Sangha's S. M. Shetty High School and Junior College is managed by the Powai Education Committee on behalf of Bunts Sangha – Mumbai. The foundation stone of the School was laid in 1998 on a prime piece of land measuring about 2 acres, allotted by the Government of Maharashtra through MHADA. Today we are aspiring to become one of the finest Schools in Mumbai offering a diverse choice of curriculum.
The School is a co-education Institution with English as the medium of Instruction. It is open to all communities irrespective of caste, creed or colour. Equal emphasis is given to academic and co curricular subjects in order to develop overall personalities of our children. Each child is given an opportunity to develop his/her talents and blossom into Full-fledged citizen of the society
Inception of SMSIS
Bunts Sangha Mumbai is a registered charitable organization established in 1927. The sangha has been running two free night schools for over 50 years now. In the field of health care, it operates a Medical center at its head quarters at 'Buntara Bhavana' near Sion. It also houses an Old Age Home for women, Ladies Hostel and a Dispensary. To further the cause of education S.M.Shetty Group of Educational Institutes started a High School, Junior College and Degree College which cater to the needs of students numbering over 5000 currently. To facilitate International education students in this part of the city, S.M.Shetty International School (SMSIS) was started in June 2008. From a small group of 114 students our school has blossomed into a beautiful learning centre drawing students from both India and abroad. Today we have over 400 students who enjoy schooling and learning activities.
